Question:
Can I watch a class before
joining?
Answer: We always recommend for
students and/or parents to watch or even try out a class or two before
making a commitment. This will answer many of the other questions you
may have.
Question:
What should I wear when I
first join?
Answer: Loose fitting clothing, a
t-shirt and sweat pants would be ideal. If you would like to buy a Gi

Answer: New students frequently want to know how long it will
take to reach a certain rank. The table below will give some idea of the
time/practice commitments required to reach various ranks. As you look
over this table, bear in mind that these are minimum requirements.
Beyond these requirements, a student must be able to perform all the
belt requirements set out in the PNHK Student Manual, and must be able
to so with the proper balance, power, concentration, speed and
proficiency required for the particular level. In every case, the final
decision as to whether a student merits promotion rests with Sensei
Puckett. Of all the factors relevant to promotion, technical proficiency
and “Ki-mei” are the most important; time is the least important.
